I wonder if Obama knows that if he’s lost all my most liberal friends, he’s lost middle America. Wonder if he’d ever opt not to run again.

I seriously doubt that he’ll check out of the race. He’s obviously too valuable to the powers-that-be to leave because he convinces bourgeois liberals to accept just about anything.

I know plenty of “liberals” who still love Obama, or at least they love the personality marketed to them as “Obama” and they still gush when he says some lip-service thing about gay rights etc., so I don’t think he’s really lost all his support. Obama may have lost your most liberal friends, but he probably still has most moderate liberals.

I think that, as the website I linked to points out, any one who considers themselves to truly be liberally minded (i.e. supportive of equality movements, freedom of speech, human rights, access to education and health care, anti-war, not being imperialist dickheads, etc.) should be appalled by Obama’s track record if they actually just paid a modicum of attention.

But a lot of people aren’t paying attention, so he might do alright in the end.

I honestly think this election is going to be such a bloated waste of time, I just don’t care at all and I plan to watch exactly 0 hours of TV devoted to the matter. Hopefully, this will be the last and only thing I write about it.
